I used to be really in shape.  I could run four miles.  I could do pushups.  I could lift weights.  After this school program started, I haven’t put in the time to take care of my physical fitness.  And this morning I had finally had enough.  5am wake up (thank you boyfriend), 30 minutes of calisthenics, and then an attempted run (until I got too scared running down my pitch black dirt driveway that is about a mile long).  I started with the basics (crunches, leg lowers, planks, lunges, squats, mountain climbers, ski abs, push ups).  And although I only did 25 reps of each, I can feel it.  And although a part of me is embarrassed that I’ve gotten to this place of physical un-fitness, a big part of me is proud that I’m doing something. Family is Everything

I’m still alive :)  Just really really busy… School, work, conference, and now family is visiting.

And I just gotta say: if you’re ever having a rough go of it, turn back to your family and let them remind you about how lucky you are, how loved you are, and how supported you are.  Let them refuel you, re-ignite your drive, and let them help you find your determination to make it.

Sometimes you have to take some time away from your life to prepare for your life.  And that’s exactly what I’m doing right now.
